Visit the beautiful Cotswolds, the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge, Bath, Blenheim Palace and Oxford on this three – day private tour from Southampton to London. Over three days see the prehistoric stone circle of Stonehenge, discover Britain’s grandest Georgian architecture in the city of Bath, spend the night in a quaint Cotswold village, explore Blenheim Palace and wander beneath the dreaming spires of Oxford.
Day 1: Southampton – Stonehenge – Bath
We will collect you at 8.30am from your cruise ship in Southampton and drive to Stonehenge, one of the seven wonders of the world. After exploring Stonehenge, we continue to Bath where we will have lunch, before enjoying an afternoon tour of the Royal Crescent, the Circus, Pulteney Bridge, Roman Baths and Bath Abbey.
After visiting the Roman Baths we will drop you off at your Bath hotel.
Day 2: Cotswolds
Departing from your hotel at 9am, you’ll start the day by visiting the fairytale village of Castle Combe. Undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the southern Cotswolds.
From here we continue on to Lacock. This is the charming village, home to a wonderful Abbey and many small artisan shops. A place where Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and many movies and TV shows have been filmed.
We then head up to the central Cotswolds, to the iconic Arlington Row in Bibury. With its crystal clear waters and wonderful old Cotswold cottages.
From here we head to arguably the most famous Cotswolds town and regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England; Bourton-on-the-Water. Known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ there is plenty to see and do with a wealth of attractions, shops, restaurants and tea rooms. This is also an ideal place to have a spot of lunch.
After lunch we drive to England’s most romantic village – Lower Slaughter. Without a doubt one of the most picturesque villages in the whole of the Cotswolds. We walk along its bubbling brook to an ancient flour mill as the sun gradually goes down. When the sun is low and it catches the honey coloured limestone buildings, it is a sight to behold.
Then finally as our journey comes to a close we stop off at Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. Here you’ll have time to browse among honey-coloured buildings, cosy pubs, narrow streets, interesting shops and tiny tea rooms.
Day 3: Blenheim Palace – Oxford – London
Your driver guide will pick you up at 10am and take you to the UNESCO-listed Blenheim Palace, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful palaces in the UK. With over 300 years of history and over 2000 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds, it was also the birthplace of Winston Churchill. Discover wonderful paintings and tapestries as well as stunning examples of baroque architecture.
Our final stop is Oxford where we will enjoy a walking tour. During your walking tour you’ll learn about Oxford’s history, the University of Oxford, famous people who have graced the city, and interesting old traditions.
From Oxford your driver guide will transfer you to London Heathrow or Central London.
